"Doing more exercise with less intensity,"
Arthur Jones believes, "has all but
destroyed the actual great value
of weight training. Something
must be done . . . and quickly."
The New Bodybuilding for
Old-School Results supplies
MUCH of that "something."

This is one of 93 photos of Andy McCutcheon that are used in The New High-Intensity Training to illustrate the recommended exercises.

Ken,

Wasn't Peter Karpovich accused of being involved in some type of fitness scam? Do you know any of the details?

Ellington:

Karpovich involved in a fitness scam? That's news to me. I can think of numerous others who have been involved in scams. All things considered, it's pretty unusual for an academician to become involved in scams since the resultant loss includes tenure, disgrace in the academic community, usually loss of one's appointment.

I'll follow up by posing the question to Terry Todd.

Ken,

Maybe it wasn't a scam, but a misrepresentation of his credentials? Ask Todd.

Hello Dr. Darden,

I wasn't sure where to place this, but I figured here was as good as any.

I know Arthur spoke on many things - both in and out of training, even during training lectures.

I was curious to whether Arthur Jones
was a religious man, or what his views on religion were.

Or was there a particular branch of philosophical thought he suscribed to that he may have gained from reading certain books?

Jones was not religious and he was skeptical of all religions.

That's interesting. I know Mike Mentzer was a big advocate of Ayn Rand's teachings on Objectivism. He too was a religious skeptic.

I wonder if Arthur had an influence on him too.
