"Doing more exercise with less intensity,"
Arthur Jones believes, "has all but
destroyed the actual great value
of weight training. Something
must be done . . . and quickly."
The New Bodybuilding for
Old-School Results supplies
MUCH of that "something."
This is one of 93 photos of Andy McCutcheon that are used in The New High-Intensity Training to illustrate the recommended exercises.

My Goodness, poor Wayne, AKA The Joker, is going to be upset.
Marcrph, you have not once refuted anything I say on training, so what would I call you ??? Someone that is not willing to work hard, and is still searching for another easy routine to make him grow a little. If you understood what I was taking about, you would know how to use a good program, and you would grow stronger and bigger.
But you do not understand, thus you but a book that will say the same old thing, you will have you doing say ??? 10 reps at 2/4, then 15 reps at 10/5, then 5 reps at 4/4, and you will fall for it and think aging you have hit the Holy Grail.
The book after reading the little on what he write before, should be called,
Body By Mythology folklore training, for those that put science behind them, and think and still try and fatigue the slow muscle fibers, which have very little potential for growth, and in doing long draw out slow girly whirly slow reps, thus anaerobic, endurance reps, when they should be concentrating on the fast muscle finer, these have huge potential for growth.
I bet you think the that rumour that peter pan is going to marry Betty Boop is true, Hey maybe Mr FLIBBLE, and Mr Punch could go bridesmaids, hell why do you not invite the whole gang, Dr Who, Tom and Jerry, batmen, Star Trek (7 of 9 in mine) Thunderbirds, bill and bed the follower pot men, Starscky and Hutch, Starsky and Hutch, Monty python, Mickey Mouse, Popeye, and Top Cat and the gang, as you have all got something in common, you will believe anything but science.
To call me a Joker, you need to refute something, and of yet neither you nor anyone else has, so the best way for you to gain any strength and size from that book, is to try and rip it up.
This whole thing it like fantasy treys to meet reality, but you fail miserably.
As I said to someone else the other day, its tuff being wrong, but the faster you admit it, the faster you will start growing and enjoy training again.
I don't understand why anyone who doesn't believe the HIT philosophy bother to post here. It makes you wonder what people's agenda's are that post to this site and don't believe in HIT. You'd think that they would spend their time doing something that was productive.
you have not once refuted anything I say on training,
Your tactics will not work on me!
I know that your main goal is to disrupt HIT threads!
That is the last thing I want to do, my aim is to help people.
If I wanted to disrupt threads, I would name call like you and the others do. If you note, not once have I started any of these silly debates, not once have I used and bad words, or been rude or crude, now have I ???
I will even apologise to you for ??? However I bet you will not to me, proving it is you that some others that disrupt the threads, as you do not want to talk about training, you wish only to do exactly what HIT says, you are not interested in training, you just want to pretend you are in a cult that does not exist.
Let me be plain!
I'm not interested in anything you say, especially training!
Ok then, if you are so confident in your training, would you take up a challenge, you against me ??? The first to add 50% to ours bent over rows, you post your video, and I will mine ???
I could care less if you are refuted!
Go to T-Nation! I do not want you here!
Marcrph, its not that you do not care, its because you can NOT, if you do, I will leave this forum for good.
This book has the answer for rep speed.
If someone preaches fast rep speed, just tell them to read Chapter 3!
You know very well it does not have the answer.
Just try and answer one question,.
Why in the World do you think your muscles are going to grow much if you do not use all your strength ???
Do not you realise that these people are just making money from you ??? They know you will believe most things, NOTHING much in that book will be support by science, if you respect Ellington, you should know, all is to be know by his books, and they have the set plan.
Before the fast reppers start flinging rebuttals, note that I will not debate rep speed with you or anyone else!
Read Chapter 3!
We know very well you will not, and CAN NOT, because you have nothing to say good for slow reps.
For Gods sake go and read Roger M. Enoka, and learn science fast and training, and go put the Beano down, its a childrens comic book in case you did not now. Do not you ever by science books ???
You can not refute one thing I say, and I could out mock you like some Siberian Tiger from Japan, I could lick you by smiling, I could leave you to hang, I could come on so weight loaded man, well hung and bronzed tan, screwed up eyes and screwed down hairdo, I played for time, jiving you that I were voodoo, you took it all too far, but boy could I play speed guitar.
Marcrph, on a more serous note, all I want to do is help people, not make the mistakes I made.
Can't wait to get this book and it's a bloody joke that it's out in Feb for us in the UK! Wayne, tell the crap to your social worker, as we don't want to here your babbling crap!
Paul, his social worker doesn't want to hear it either!
lol I totally agree James, we just don't want to either!
I read in the preview that on the leg press an example trainee took 4 minutes? Does he do a warm up set or super slow? Seems like a long time. IF i did 12 reps at 4/4 thats just over 1 and half minutes. Thanks.
that gibberish you wrote earlier tells me that you already have a belly full of booze in that rock hard stomach of yours.
celebrating new year's earlier eh?
so, when are you going on holiday?
i'm waiting, as i know we all are, for those physique shots of you.
