"Doing more exercise with less intensity,"
Arthur Jones believes, "has all but
destroyed the actual great value
of weight training. Something
must be done . . . and quickly."
The New Bodybuilding for
Old-School Results supplies
MUCH of that "something."

This is one of 93 photos of Andy McCutcheon that are used in The New High-Intensity Training to illustrate the recommended exercises.

If anyone wants to read my latest article, it's just been posted on mikementzer.com/ Joanne had asked me to contribute for some time, so I finally sat down and wrote how Mike effected my life! I enjoyed going back in time and reliving the many fond memories.

Thanks Turpin, much appreciated. Glad you enjoyed it.

Btw, this was a milestone for me, adding pics to emphasis the message. It came out as hoped. I felt the pics carried the message better.

Yes. Great article. You're lucky to have met your idol...not many of us will get that chance.

Thanks Nate. Yes, most of us never get the opportunity to meet and get to know our idols. I was definitely blessed!

Bruce Lee is another I would have loved to have met. But alas, he was dead by the time I came to appreciate him <sigh>. I managed to track down a male nurse who was there at his time of death, which was more upsetting when I heard how his last minutes on earth were.

Sure would have been nice had Mike created his own Olympia after the 1980 debacle. Wonder if there was ever any interest in a Mentzer brothers Heavy Duty B.B. memorial contest...

Regards,
Andrew

That's an interesting premise Andrew. I assume at the time Mike had the contacts and power to do so, had he chosen to take that path. But I assume he was done with contests! Which is why he published his own magazine for a period.
