"Doing more exercise with less intensity,"

The New Bodybuilding for

MUCH of that "something."

Marc, that's not coffee. Coffee should be dark in color, rich, nothing else. Those that truly "love the bean" don't sweeten it up with frothy additives.

I like it "black" also.

good man.

adding milk and sugar to coffee is not liking coffee, but milk and sugar.

speaking in analogy, if you like "steak" you don;t smother it in A1 or Worcestershire do you?

i eat salad with just a squirt of vinegar ..don't need or use oily dressingings. the old adage is anything tastes great smothered in cheese. aint it the truth...

as just an experiement try just tasting ONE "thing" with each mouthful. don't jump to cover everything in cheese or oily dressinings, ketchup mustard etc.

savor the ORIGINAL taste. develop a palate for it! eventually you may iscover how much FAT, oil, sugar, HFCS, additives, and CALORIES are avoided. :)

Not doubting, just discerning. Since it appears he started both habits at the same time, there's no telling for sure which one (or both) made the big difference in his bloodwork.

Don't get me wrong, I believe in the benefits of grass-fed meat and dairy products over the crap-fed alternatives. I'm just un-gullible enough to find that a small pat of GFC butter would make all that much difference.

I drink two cups of coffee (with just a bit of organic milk) each weekday morning to get me going as I am not a morning person - I don't need it on weekends as I can sleep in.

It's so good, I'm sure the government will soon levy taxation. I called my congressman just in case, and he said I was too o-l-d to vote. LOL

What kind of stone is that counter top - or is it synthetic?

?????Looks like granite??????

Oh I thought it was your counter -

If it is real stone it is Granite - I just wanted to know what kind of Granite

Think....

What if everyone did the same thing...
Was the same color....
The same size....
had the same thoughts....
had the same habits....
liked the same music...
liked the same color...
eat the same foods...

Boring???

Variety is the spice of life...
Enjoy it.....
Quit fighting it...

I drink ( on average ) 6-8 strong coffee`s per day ... but none after 5pm.
I do like it with double cream or whole milk but not sugar.

Personally I use it as a pre workout pick me up/stimulant.

Same here. As a kid there was one dressing available at the house..Thousand Island, which I despised. Had to eat the salad, or else, so I ate it plain. Still do to this day.

No cheese on the brocoli either.

My blood pressure is perfect , I have my cholesterol & BP done fairly regular as part of my occupation.
Stress & worry ( which is something you seem prone too ) will increase your BP , and you seem to worry about the effect of anything/everything around you.
Enjoy life & everything it has to offer , its too short to worry about how you can/will prolong it , moreso if you lead a miserable existence in doing so.

I wouldn't say I'm "worried" but more like concerned, aware, cognizant of the fact. Anticipating potential deleterious effects (as well beneficial), and heading them off at the pass so to speak seems prudent to me. Wouldn't you agree an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure?

Any BP spikes from caffeine, were shown in short-term, first-time user studies only.

Regular users have been shown to NOT get the same BP spike, diuretic effects, or elevated HR issues shown in the new-user studies.

To attempt to `prevent` seems to me that you are otherwise anticipating a happening , if you are denying something which you otherwise enjoy whilst living in anticipation of potentialities then you are not living life to the full.

Agreed! I drink up to 6-7 12+ oz cups on 2-3 days a week and some as little as 1-2 cups. I don't worry about how much coffee I drink - I do it because I enjoy it.

lol, didn't want to make a mountain out of a molehill here..merely to note that a lot of coffee contains a lot of caffeine. I drink coffee..about 3 cups per black no sugar or artificial sweetner. Because I like the taste of the bean. Used to be i drank a full pot per day before I thought about how much caffeine i was consuming. Cut it back to about 3 cups per day now

www.washingtonmonthly.com/features/2005/0506.koerner.htm

"In France, meanwhile, Voltaire was reputedly downing between 50 and 72 cups of coffee a day, a habit that many link to the brevity and mania of Candide.

None of this mental activity much pleased the powers-that-be, who viewed coffee drinkers as a threat. Unlike alcohol, which merely caused buffoons to pound on each other and pass out in the gutters, coffee seemed to foment true anti-establishment behavior among the intelligentsia.

England's King Charles II went so far as to issue a proclamation banning coffee houses, though popular uproar forced him to quickly rescind the order. And his Prussian peer, King Frederick, urged his subjects to drink more beer instead of coffee, though he wasn't entirely motivated by a desire to suppress dissent--he also wanted to keep the nation's money out of the hands of English and French coffee merchants."

I know this is about as pathetic as it gets but if this is any consultation to you Southbeach, with all the back and forth crap on the REN-EX and other threads I have to admit that at this time ( with the possible exception of the X-Force thread) there is nothing worth doing on this forum except laughing at you and your posts!

Ok. Personally, I avoid salt....but people who I respect even on this board don't. So. Why not salted butter? Coffee dehydrates. Salt makes you retain water. Can't you salt your coffee and break even and half all the blessings. Somebody tell me. And I don't know, I admnit it. I am posing the question.

Tried one yesterday with an ounce of coconut oil and an ounce of butter. It did nothing. I wish I could say something better. Of course, doing nothing...is better than doing something bad...still I had higher hopes.

Yes, salt may be a problem for those who are hypertensive, but in and of itself causes no health problems.

As mentioned before, the diuretic (dehydrating) effects of caffeine are greatly diminished or non-existent in regular users.
